On 19 July 2025, our daughter-in-law brought my son, my wife and me here. We were seated on a sofa comfortably and the food was great. However, the service could be better, eg we didn’t have to refill water ourselves. Could it be because those waiting knew we were outsiders?

Got the dinner set course meal. Starters had a good balance of flavor, personal favorite is the crab meat crisp. The duck breast ravioli was quite good, sauce was a bit on the heavier side, but the duck breast was great. If you dislike gamey taste then maybe avoid it but otherwise great flavor. Desserts were mild and refreshing, not too sweet

**Japanese Cheese Curry-Braised New Zealand Lamb Shank with Broccolini, Sautéed Wild Mushrooms & Creamy Purée – $418** This dish showcases a slow-braised New Zealand lamb shank infused with a Japanese-style cheese curry sauce. The lamb is exceptionally tender, with meat that effortlessly pulls away from the bone, having absorbed the rich sweetness and subtle heat of the curry. The sauce is deeply flavorful—its mild spice balanced by a mellow cheese element that adds creaminess and depth without overpowering the lamb’s natural taste. Broccolini and sautéed wild mushrooms sit alongside the shank, offering a refreshing, earthy contrast. The broccolini’s gentle sweetness and the umami-rich wild mushrooms help balance the dish’s richness, adding layers of freshness and aroma. A velvety purée completes the plate, serving both as a textural counterpoint and a flavor enhancer. Placed beneath the braised lamb, it binds the components with its smooth consistency and adds body to each bite. Every element is carefully considered, making this dish both hearty and elegant. **Kagoshima A4 Wagyu Sirloin with Slow-Cooked Wagyu Cheek, Broccolini & Herb Duck Fat Roasted Potatoes – $498** This premium offering highlights two cuts of Kagoshima wagyu prepared with contrast and precision. The **A4 sirloin** is richly marbled, delivering an indulgent mouthfeel and deep beefy flavor with every bite. Grilled to medium-rare, it showcases the signature tenderness and luxurious texture of high-grade Japanese beef. The **wagyu cheek**, slow-cooked to perfection, is meltingly soft and paired with a sauce derived from its own braising liquids—intensely savory and layered with depth. Together, these cuts offer a dynamic tasting experience, juxtaposing refined sear with comforting succulence. Broccolini adds a clean, slightly bitter note that cuts through the wagyu’s richness, while **herb-infused duck fat potatoes** provide crisp edges and aromatic complexity. The potatoes absorb the flavor of the duck fat and herbs beautifully, rounding out the dish with a rustic, satisfying finish that complements the beef’s refinement.

Arrived at 7:00 in the evening. The restaurant has a simple wooden decor and a cozy atmosphere. The spacious environment is very comfortable. We ordered two set menus. ⭐ Welcome drink: Shiso Plum Soda The staff served Shiso Plum Soda at the beginning. It has a refreshing and slightly sweet taste, very fresh and enjoyable. ⭐ Appetizer: Tuna Tartar with Mentaiko. Prawn. Rice Krispies. Garden Salad. The crispy rice has a prominent rice flavor. The combination of scallion tuna and fresh mentaiko prawn is excellent. The dish is refreshing and simple. ⭐ Appetizer: Marinated Abalone in Japanese Style with Soya Salmon Roe The abalone has a balanced saltiness and is full of flavor. The soy-marinated salmon roe is plump and pairs well with the large abalone. It is very satisfying. ⭐ Soup: Lobster Bisque with Tarragon & Cognac The lobster bisque with added Cognac is even smoother in texture. It is aromatic and outstanding. ⭐ Refreshment Tea: Sun Moon Lake Purple Bud Black Tea from Taiwan This purplish-red tea has a subtle fruity aroma. It has a fragrant and slightly sweet taste with a hint of woody notes. It's worth a try. ⭐ Main: Pan-Fried Chilean Sea Bass with Sweet Pepper Wild Morel Tomato Sauce and Braised Clams, Herb Duck Fat Roasted Potatoes The sea bass is tender and flavorful with a hint of oiliness. The fish skin is crispy, and when combined with the white sea bass meat, it is very satisfying. The sweet pepper wild morel tomato sauce and braised clams are delicious. The potatoes are roasted in duck fat, resulting in a crispy texture. They are cut into large pieces, which is impressive. ⭐ Main: Kagoshima A4 Wagyu Sirloin & Slow-Cooked Wagyu Beef Cheeks. Broccolini & Roasted Potato We ordered it medium-rare. The wagyu sirloin is tender and has a juicy texture. The beef flavor is rich, and it is paired with the meat juice, which is of high quality. The wagyu cheeks have a resilient texture with a flavorful and impressive taste. ⭐ Dessert: Yuzu Black Sesame Tart The yuzu flavor is refreshing, and the rich black sesame adds a special touch. The tart crust is particularly enjoyable, as it melts in your mouth with a buttery aroma. ⭐ Drinks: Uji Matcha Yuzu Fizz Highly recommended! The combination of matcha, yuzu, and lemon creates a unique and interesting taste. The staff kindly reminded us to mix the lemon well before drinking. The proportions are perfectly adjusted, allowing you to taste the bitterness of matcha, the tanginess of yuzu and lemon, and there are plenty of yuzu pieces in the drink, adding texture and flavor. ⭐ Drinks: Maruya Yuzu Lemonade The zest of yuzu and lemonade creates a refreshing and pleasantly sweet flavor, providing a cooling sensation. Overall, the restaurant has a spacious and comfortable environment. The staff provides excellent service, introduces the dishes, and refills water constantly. The dishes are well thought out, using fresh ingredients, and the prices are reasonable. It is definitely worth a try. A high-quality and satisfying meal.

Went for a dinner last night. Feel like I have to make a recommendation. The starters are very appealing. The Chanwan-mushi (steam) in a tiny box is lovely, it’s a bit cold but refreshing when it comes with the other two fried food: Scottish egg and seaweed wrap. These two go with barbecue sauce, slightly spicy but relishing . The main dish wagyu sirloin steak at medium level. Even though it comes from Australia, it taste is no less than Japanese; It is juicy and tender, brown coating wrapping the pink inside :) it will surprise your taste buds. The size is around 250g at least I guess. The dessert combo comes with a lavender soda that match is so well with the desserts because it will freshen you up after the sweets. One is a mousse cake of Olong tea flavour, my wife loves it much. The other is like a jelly with a flower (Sakura?) inside.
